galanix • 11 yr. ago Only two with any evidence are: Brienne - She recalls a sigil on a shield in the armory at Evenfall Hall that closely resembles Dunk's sigil (a tree with a falling star). She has this same sigil painted on her shield at Duskendale in AFFC.

So GRRM said there are four descendants of ser duncan in asoiaf. I think I know three of them but I can't find the fourth. I think the indicator for them being his descendant is if they are referred to as "thick as a castle wall." Small Paul - referred to by Chett as "thick as a castle wall" in SOS prologue. Brienne - asked by Jamie if she is.

Dunk or Ser Duncan the Tall was a hedge knight who traveled the Seven Kingdoms. He was described as an inch shy of seven feet in height and having a humble but naive personality. He grew up in Fleabottom and never knew his parents. As a young boy, he squired for a knight named Arlan of Pennytree.

Ser Duncan the Tall designed his own sigil (a shooting star over an elm tree) with the help of Tanselle just before he enters the tourney of Ashford. He was a new knight of common origins, so didn't have a sigil and couldn't use his late master's sigil since he wasn't related.

A hedge knight is the truest kind of knight, Dunk. Other knights serve the lords who keep them, of from whom they hold their lands, but we serve where we will, for men whose causes we believe in. [1] Even a hedge knight has his honor. [17] A hedge knight and a robber knight are two sides of the same sword.

Dunk has flashbacks to his boyhood in Flea Bottom when he was the leader of a gang of miscreants which could possibly have molded him into a monster without the guidance of Ser Arlan. The Hound also shows his Dunk-like good hearted side after he leaves Kings Landing and goes on the road with Arya.

When Bran wargs into the Winterfell weirwood, he sees "a brown-haired girl slender as a spear who stood on the tips of her toes to kiss the lips of a young knight as tall as Hodor." We know that Dunk and Egg plan to go to Winterfell at some point and Old Nan seems to be old enough for the timelines to work out.
